Schedule 

11:00-1:00 Ongoing Registration

*Water Bottle Contest: present your water bottle for judging at Registration and you may win a prize! We have categories for Ugliest Water Bottle, Cutest Water Bottle, and Most Unusual Water Bottle. To be judged by the Forest Service Staff and presented at 2pm during Dessert.


11:00 - Fuel Up - Coffee, Pastries, Snacks - Fill your water bottle!

11:00 - Gopher Tortoises: Fascinating Facts about the Goethe's Spirit Animal from UF ZooMed Staff
11:30 - The Power of Fire: Forest Service Staff Presentation on Controlled Burns
12:00 - Trails Open: Roam on Marked Trails and Enjoy Food Stations Along the Way
 2:00 - Wind Down: Dessert at the Trailhead with Water Bottle Contest Awards and raffle winners
 2:30 - Ask the Forest: Q & A with Forest Service Staff
 3:00 - TOG Ends

About the Trails

All trails will be marked! We will provide further info on distances in January.

  • Hikers - 1.75 mile and 3.7 mile options, guided hike offered, start time 12:00 noon
  • Bikers - Trail on Forest dirt roads - will be 10 miles
  • Equestrians - Separate trail from bikes on marked trail - The riders have 6.4, 8.75 and 14 mile options.
    The drivers have 7.5 and 8.5 mile options.

Food stations along the trail and at the trailhead.

Professional photographer will offer portraits and candid pics of you for a donation to the Forest.

Dogs are welcome but must be on leash at all times.

The Apex Trailhead has bathrooms and a filtered water spigot around the back of the building. Please bring your own water bottle.  

 


Special Guests: Williston Animal Group

WAG (Williston Animal Group) will be at Taste of Goethe all day with dogs for adoption that you can visit and walk on their own special trail. Generous donors have even provided treats that you can share with them.
